The experienced CBT course is aimed at those students who have a CBT certificate that has NOT expired.

Experienced CBT Prerequisites

You must be able to produce a valid CBT certificate that has not yet expired. Remember the certificate has a start date but no end date. It is valid for two years from the date of issue so, for example, a certificate that was issued on the 14th March 2015 would expire at midnight on the 13th March 2017. (Students that took their CBT with us after January 1st 2014 do not have to worry about producing their certificate as we can check your details on our database.)

If you discover your CBT certificate has expired, then you will have to go through the CBT process again and do the full day course.

If you arrive on the day of your course with own motorcycle (geared or automatic) along with a valid MOT certificate, and insurance documents. We will check that the road tax has been paid on the motorcycle you bring.

You also need to bring your driving license and your national insurance number.

If you do not currently have your own motorbike, then we can provide you with a school motorbike, but at an additional £15 above the price quoted below.

Experienced CBT Content

The experienced CBT normally lasts about five/six hours and consists of all the elements of the CBT but at a much faster pace.

Your instructor will also expect a much higher standard of riding than they would for a normal CBT and will be considerably more critical during debriefs.

Your instructor will get you to do an eyesight check.
Your instructor will discuss with you the need to take your motorcycle theory and go on to pass your DVSA motorcycle test.
You will have a brief Q&A session on protective clothing if your instructor can see that you are not wearing suitable motorcycle clothing.
Your instructor will look over your motorcycle and get you to do the daily BOLTS check to show that your motorcycle is safe to ride.
You will then be taken down to our off road training area and perform the various exercises that you would do during a normal CBT.
You will have another Q&A session in regard to riding your motorcycle safely out on the road and a few questions pertaining to the highway code. This will be performed back at the office.
You will then be provided with a radio and taken for a minimum of a two-hour road ride.
When you get back to the office, your instructor will discuss any issues that have manifested themselves during the ride that they were not able to get you to correct.

Finally, you will again be requested to seriously consider taking your DVSA motorcycle test and the reasons as to why this is such an important part of being safe out there riding on the road.

Great place to get your bike training. The team is great starting with Lyanna always helpful and accommodating last minute requests with a smile, Elliot one of the bike trainers always with a smile and positive attitude and Jim merits a special note: he is tough but fair, always looking to ensure you are doing the right things, awareness, signs and above all safety, love his sense of dry humour. I say if you can't deal with Jim don't ride a bike. He knows his stuff. They all do at Bikewise. Book your course it will not disappoint! Aces!!!

I did my CBT here, and El and Lyndon were absolutely brilliant and probably wouldn't have passed the CBT without their help. They managed to give me the time and attention to tell me where I was going wrong so I could improve on my mistakes and gave me the confidence to ride well on the road. Would 100% recommend going for first-time CBT and for renewals.

All I can say is my whole day experience was amazing just got my CBT and it wouldn’t been possible without the guidance of two superb instructors Lyndon and EL they are amazing friendly and makes learning easy but they won’t compromise on safety which is great. Took my CBT here. The experience was both memorable and enjoyable. Lyndon the instructor is an honest to god professional, he not only has the knowledge and ability to effectively teach. But he made the experience enjoyable with his energy and passion that he has for bike riding!

My brother is and experienced rider and has been in isolation from March to mid April (during this time his certificate expired). My brother is now living with me a registered nurse on the front line helping with my childcare, he came with minimal clothes and shoes due to the urgency of him leaving my dads house. Firstly he was told he would have to pay for the whole day which wasn’t an issue given the pandemic around us, but when turning up this morning he was declined and lost his money due to not wearing jeans (an item he doesn’t possess) this was a one 2 one session which wouldn’t have had an impact on anyone if he wore 2 pairs of tracksuit bottoms as he is an experienced rider and there are no specific dress codes for experienced riders. Absolutely disgusting.... money grabbing company!!!!

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to Jim and the team at Bikewize for helping pass my cbt, this is a small family run business they are very professional and knowledgeable and make you feel at home, it is great value for money and they have made me a very happy lady 😁 I would highly recommend them and if you’re a novice like me then they also do 1-1 pre cbt courses so you can get a feel for everything before you do the real test Thanks Jim and the Bikewize team

I passed my CBT yesterday! Very happy with my overall experience and cannot fault this place at all. The staff is welcoming, skilled and will advise you on everything you need to know. The Training ground is a professional set up and big thanks to my instructor who gave me the confidence I needed. Will be looking at getting additional training soon to complete my full bike license.

A really great family run business with knowledgeable and friendly instructors, I have passed my CBT twice here now with thanks to Jim and Paul and when I'm ready to attain my full motorcycle license I'll definitely be using Bikewize. Everything you need to know is sent in an email when you book, as long as you pay attention and read the email you'll have a great experience.

A few years ago I used I did two CBT's with Bikewize along with my brother. Bikes my look old, however bikes age very well as long as they are looked after. The training at the time was fit for purpose and allowed me to get my first every bike, a Yamaha ybr 125 which I loved.

I did my CBT and full licence with these guys and passed first time. The instructors were great and definitely push you to make sure you’re way above the test standard. I had a really good experience and I’d recommend Bikewize to anyone! Also found them really accommodating with my weird working hours. Couldn’t have done it without you guys! :) :)

Took my CBT and DAS through Bikewize. Only good things to say. Great team, very helpful and they genuinely want you to pass first time...which I did.
